Fabian Bali Swim Sessions
29th May 2023
Great work and focus within this session Fabian.
You understood the hand angle to be pointed down more in the water, and also looking down to the bottom of the pool to help with your body position.
Key Points and focus areas...
1. Hand/wrist angle - tilting your wrist down slightly helped get a better entry into the water and stopped you slowing yourself down. It also was a benefit to your arm shape under the water and getting more power.
2. Head position - looking down to the bottom of the pool helped maintain a flatter body position and also when breathing, tilting your head forward and down aided this as well.
3. Rotation - remember to rotate on both sides of your body when swimming. We often rotate better on the side we are breathing to, remember to focus on the opposite side as well.
Keep practising the swim drills both through doing 25m drill, then 25m Freestyle concentrating on the drill component.
Examples...
4 x 50m (25m rotation on back, 25m Freestyle) - rotate fully around to one side, then back to the middle before fully to the opposite side
4 x 50m (25m single arm freestyle, 25m Freestyle) - alternate the arm doing freestyle
4 x 50m (25m position 11 arms, 25m Freestyle) - arms parallel to shoulders and hand pointing down slightly, fingers closed
